…readily available at our fingertips, so it makes no sense why we have to memorise things for exams. It is more important to be able to source vital information then memorise it by heart, such as key dates in history. Most information students forget once they leave school or finish the exam by just using that short-term memory. In addition, memorising information for exams only creates stress.
This is what is often overlooked. I think that we need to start examining students who are able to come to find an answer with a starting point. Instead of exams, we should have guided discovery, proving their ability to research and find unique answers.
